In conjunction with its annual gathering of Media and Public Relations focal points across the country, UYFC is taking the opportunity to convene a media and public relations symposium on Contents Creation, Delivery and Social Responsibility so as to equip the above group and general publics (those who share the professions, students of media and communication, key opinion leaders and relevant private and government stakeholders) with new skills, know-hows and development in the industry at large. Media and public relations profession, driven by an unstoppable speed of technology development, is being challenged not just the technology per se, but also by the (users’) generated contents which are (occasionally) deemed socially inappropriate and irresponsible. Further exacerbated by lightning speed of delivery hosted many new sophisticated platforms, those irresponsible contents go deep down to the individual level, breaking down social cohesion and bringing in a plight of social unrest.
As a socially responsible leading youth organization in Cambodia, UYFC is well aware of this new trend, and is convinced that each and every member of its media and public relations teams grasp the opportunity of this new development while also acknowledging its challenges to the profession and to the society at large. This half-day symposium is therefore convened to raise the awareness, and to its best ability, equip the participants with the ability to create and identify socially responsible contents (which are of real benefits to society), understand facts behind news curtains (media literates), and be aware of the Do-and-Don’t of the technologies (as tools). In servicing those set objectives, this symposium is broken down into 3 main parts, with the first one dealing with content creations, followed by contents deliveries (experiences from Facebook and TikTok) and is ended up with a socially responsible concepts to guide media and public relations practitioners. Some 300 participants are expected for this workshop which is also hoped to become a platform for professional exchanges of relevant contents for stakeholders.
