Join us for a solo exhibition of the work of a Bronx based artist.
Mecca Alim's work is intense, haunting and disturbing in the way she creates and renders her subjects in a multicultural universe where “body-shaming,” racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other forms of bigotry do not exist. Her drawings, digital work and paintings cast her as a story teller with an imaginary universe. Her work is about escapism that fits in a gallery, comic books, cartoons, anime, graphic novels and film but focus on social issues.
