Description

VisitScotland invite you to attend our Mearns Tourism Focus morning on Thursday 7 March at Balmakewan, Aberdeenshire.

This event gives you the opportunity to meet some of the VisitScotland team, hear our plans for 2019/20 and network with like-minded tourism businesses in your area.

You will hear from VisitScotland’s Themed Years Communications & Engagement Manager, Chelsea Charles, who will focus on key opportunities for the coming years, and preparations for the next themed year, Scotland’s Coasts and Waters 2020.

Louise Nicoll, of Newton Farm Holidays, will also join us to share the impact and benefits of turning her rural business into a successful tourism experience.

We will also be hosting a workshop from Digital Tourism Scotland: Is your tourism business online bookable?”

This workshop will help you understand:

  • The value of being of bookable online
  • The options are available to tourism business
  • Why tourism businesses need to offer online booking
  • How online booking can improve your website conversion rate.

Over 80% of UK travellers book their holidays online, and this figure is growing steadily each year. Only 41% of Scottish accommodation providers offer online booking facilities, and this percentage is lower for visitor attractions and activity providers.

By taking part in this workshop you can ensure that your business is not one of those missing out on the opportunities - and customers - that come from online booking functions.

Come along and meet some of the VisitScotland team and other local businesses. Partnership and collaboration is at the heart of Scottish tourism and we aim to promote Scotland with Scotland, so together we can continue to grow the Scottish visitor economy.
