Event description
MCS~Fund: "The Virtual Fundraiser 2021" World Sickle Cell Day

About this event

My daughter, Meesha Chanell Saxton, was born October 17, 1995 with Sickle Cell Disease. Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders which involve and abnormal hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the substance that carries oxygen through the body. SCD is a disease characterized by chronic severe anemia, episode of severe painful crises that last hours, days, or weeks and may cause organ damage, and eventually death. Not having the full knowledge of the severity of this disease and the adverse effects that it has on an individual’s life. Due to complications and the miseducation of her illness, she passed away on December 24, 1996. Since then, I have been a sickle cell advocate ever since.

Our mission as a volunteer driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the umbrella of KINCAID’S KINDRED SPIRITS, INC. (KKS) Citizens for Healthy Living: MCS ~ FUND sole mission to generate unrestricted funds for Sickle Cell Anemia affected individuals. Serving the needs of people plagued by this disease is not only a mission, but a passion. Our vision is that we help Sickle Cell Anemia affected individuals financially as part of KKS Sickle Cell Anemia Adult Community Outreach. I thank you in advance for your generous donation no matter how big or small, every dollar helps.
