Mayor Summer Reading Program X WAWA #2

Overview

Free family literacy event for ages 0–8 featuring read-alouds, hands-on activities, and fun learning through the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club

🐜 The Great Ant SleepOver: Interactive Nature Hike & Storytime

Join us for the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club (MSRC) — a fun, interactive program designed to promote early literacy, vocabulary development, and a love of reading for children ages birth through eight and their families.

In this nature-based session, families will take part in a short, guided hike paired with an interactive story experience. Children will march like ants, exploring teamwork, movement, and the natural world while connecting stories to real-life exploration.

Families will enjoy:
✨ Interactive read-aloud sessions in nature
✨ Guided movement activities along the trail
✨ Hands-on learning experiences
✨ Opportunities for family engagement and outdoor exploration

The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club is a collaborative initiative between the City of Atlanta, GEEARS, PNC, United Way, and community partners working together to strengthen literacy outcomes for Atlanta’s youngest learners.

Let’s walk, read, and explore the world—one tiny step at a time! 🐜🌿
