The Land Of the Dancing Deer presents: Mayan FIre Ceremony

Coming this September 28th, 2019 starting at 10:00 a.m.

On behalf of Tata Victor Lopez- SacBe Mayan Council of Toronto, Nana Esperanza and Medicine Woman Gail Whitlow & The Land Of the Dancing Deer.

ALL ARE WELCOME, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WELCOME.

Our Ceremony guide’s name is Tata Victor, his title is "Ajqijab." He has been a Mayan spiritual guide & Day Keeper since Nov. 2000. Trained in Guatemala as an Ambassador of Mayan Healing Medicines and Traditions, Tata has led hundreds of Ceremonies in both North & South America.

Our Mayan Fire Ceremony are held on Six Nations Reserve at The Land of The Dancing Deer. the Sacred land which heals the healers.

Participants are asked to bring 2 white candles per person to honor your Ancestors. You may bring as many as you wish, and some to share. Children of all ages are warmly welcome and highly anticipated. To respect Indigenous protocol, we request that Women wear skirts (over pants is fine.)

You are encouraged to bring offerings. Offerings are gifts to the life energy in the fire, a token of your gratitude for prayers being heard. Traditional offerings for a Mayan fire Ceremony are; flowers, cacao beans, dark chocolate, white copal, puros, (pure tobacco cigars) organic cornmeal, dried organic herbs of rosemary, cedar, rue, sage, lavender, cinnamon, organic honey, and Florida water to give to the Elders to help with the Ceremony. These offerings are sacred symbols of deep respect to our Fire Keeper Tata Victor, a gift to the Fire and Pachamamma, (Mother Earth) and help to bring favor of the sacred Nawales. (the elements of Creation.)

Simply bring Offerings to Tata Victor first, to be cleansed according to Mayan tradition. Throughout the Ceremony we watch the fire, note how strongly it blazes, and in which direction the flames move. Through the Fire, you may obtain signs and omens.

Its traditional to offer gifts, personal or sacred for the Elders. Here are some suggestions;

- Sacred plants bundles of one or more of the following; sage, lavender, cedar, sweet grass, organic loose tobacco.

- Cacao

- drawings or art

- pure salt

- Feathers

- crystals

- Flowers

- Fresh herbs eg, mint, thyme, oregano, kitchen sage

- Any small token which represents happiness and purpose for joining this journey

If you feel it in your hearts, a suggested donation: $20.00 or more per family. This is a not-for-profit event. The money is an exchange to cover the cost of travel and sacred ceremonial tools Elders. You may donate through this site or cash at ceremony.

Please consider donating to help those who are financially burdened but their hearts need to be there. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds.

Little house keeping;

-Please bring hand drums and rattles, or other sacred noise makers

-We are permitted to park in the school lot. The land is BEHIND the school. The land is a short hike from the parking lot, due to this hike, the land is not wheelchair.

-Smoking is NOT permitted on the property, with the exception of Sacred Pipe.

-There are no bathroom facilities, bring spare toilet paper and paper garbage bag for emergencies. All garbage must leave with you.

-This is an outdoor event. Sometimes the terrain is muddy. Please dress accordingly, wear trekking shoes, sunscreen and bug spray (preferably natural) if you choose. Some people like to bring an umbrella to shade themselves from the sun. Please bring your own folding chair or a ground cover, and your own drinking water in an eco-friendly container.
