MAYA welcomes Penny Simkin; When Survivors Give Birth
The When Survivors Give Birth workshop day one, on March 31, 2017 8:00-5:00, is designed to acquaint participants with the prevalence of childhood sexual abuse and its impact on the childbearing women, and to introduce specific counseling and care-giving techniques for minimizing the negative impact and bringing healing.
There are openings for 27 participants to continue to the extended workshop for professionals with experience in perinatal mental health, educating, or caring for childbearing women. The workshop on day two, April 1, 2017 8:00-5:00, will focus on advanced techniques for counseling the survivor. Day two attendees must have attended day one in order to attend day two.

$95* for only the one-day workshop. Open to the public.
Two-day workshop: March 31 and April 1, 2017 8:00-5:00
$150* for the two-day workshop.
Attendees must have experience in perinatal mental health, education, or caring for childbearing women, and must have attended the day 1 workshop.
Due to an exceptionally limited number of spots in the day-two workshop, registration opportunities may run out before March 10. In the event that happens, we will contact affected individuals.
