Great Meadow Campsites
Each site can accommodate 1 vehicle and 1 large tent (or 2 small tents) and up to 5 people (at least one person MUST be a member). Extra vehicles will have to park in the overflow parking area about an eighth of a mile away from the campsites. Albeit a convenient location (portable toilets and friendly, helpful staff nearby), the Great Meadow will serve as the hub for all activities. Activities will be in a separate area of the meadow. Quiet hours: 10pm-7am.

Girl Scout Camp Campsites
A little more secluded, this area can accommodate approximately 6 campsites. This site is about ½-mile away from the Great Meadow. Tent and car camping only. Each site can accommodate 1 vehicle and 1 large tent (or 2 small tents), and up to 5 people (at least one person MUST be a member). Extra vehicles will have to park in the overflow parking area, about an eighth of a mile away from the campsites.

Group Site 1
This campsite can accommodate up to 5 tents - please only book if you are coming with a large group. Every 5th person MUST be a member. Distance to the Great Meadow is about 1/4 mile.

Group Site 2
This site is about ¾-mile away from the Great Meadow and requires 4-wheel drive vehicles to get to. This site can accommodate up to 10 tents. Every 5th person MUST be a member. Please only book if you are coming with a large group.

Backpacking Campsites
Backpacking sites at the top of Oak Road and along High Point Road. Hiking distances vary from 1 to 3 miles. PLEASE NOTE: no cars are allowed to the backpacking sites. You must hike all of your gear in. We will, however, deliver water to the sites in the morning and evening. You must be a current member to book one of these sites.

CAMPOUT AT STAR CREEK RANCH

 

MEMBERS ONLY

This is a MEMBERS ONLY event. Each member may bring up to 4 non-member guests. Additional guests will need to become members. Contact me if you’re not sure of your membership status.

 

Campsites may only be booked by a CURRENT member.

 

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

ARRIVE Saturday anytime between 9am and 2pm. Come to the check-in station to receive your campsite location and an orientation packet.

 

DEPART Sunday anytime between 9am and 3pm.

 

SOME ACTIVITIES TO LOOK FORWARD TO

  • Birding Walk
  • Sunrise Yoga
  • Walk Where the Lions Walk: A Wildlife Tracking Tour
  • Fire pits (space NOT limited – bring your s’more supplies!)
  • Other Activities TBA (we’re trying to figure out logistics to show a movie. If we can’t figure it out, we’ll have an open mic night!).

 

Most activities will have a limited capacity (varies per activity), but they are all first come, first served. You will be able to sign up upon arrival. Try to pick your favorite so that everyone may have a chance to attend one of them.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING (click link for packing list)

 

WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE

We will be providing dinner on Saturday night from a local taco vendor, and beer from both Corralitos Brewery and Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing.

 

DOGS

Dogs are allowed (they are family after all) but must remain on leash at the Great Meadow and in the camping areas.

 

CAMPSITE INFO

The majority of campsites can accommodate 1 VEHICLE and either 1 LARGE TENT, or 2 SMALL TENTS, with up to 5 PEOPLE per campsite.

 

Extra vehicles will have to park in the overflow parking area, about an eighth of a mile away from the campsites. NO RV’S OR TRAILERS. Tepuis or similar rooftop tents are OK.

 

4 CAMPING OPTIONS

  1. TENT/CAR CAMPING in the Great Meadow. A NOTE: Albeit a convenient location (portable toilets and friendly, helpful staff nearby), the Great Meadow will serve as the hub for all activities. Activities will be in a separate area of the meadow. Quiet hours: 10pm-7am.
  2. TENT/CAR CAMPING in Girl Scout Camp. A NOTE: A little more secluded, this area can accommodate approximately 6 campsites.
  3. BACKPACKING sites at the top of Oak Road and along High Point Road. Hiking distances vary from 1 to 3 miles. A NOTE: no cars are allowed to drive to the backpacking sites (or maybe that’s obvious?). You must hike all of your gear in. We will, however, deliver water to the sites in the morning and evening. Leave no trace info here.
  4. GROUP SITES that can accommodate up to 20 people each. There are only 2 available, so please only sign up for them if you have a large group. A NOTE: every fifth person must be a member. 

Directions from Highway 1 (north or south)

Drive to Watsonville on Highway 1

  1. Take Riverside Drive/Highway 129 East. Once you exit the freeway, continue on Riverside Drive/Highway 129 INLAND (away from the ocean). You will be traveling EAST.
  2. Drive 10.5 miles – you will go through downtown Watsonville, and then pass a lot of farmland.
  3. You will pass the turnoff for the town of Aromas.
  4. At 10.5 miles, you will see Land Trust signs directing you to turn left off of the highway. There is no name for the road you will turn onto, but we will mark it with signs.
  5. Once you turn off of the highway, you will drive about 3 miles on a single lane dirt road. 

If you reach Old Chittenden Road, you have gone too far.

Directions from Highway 101 (north or  south)

  1. Exit Highway 129 towards Watsonville.
  2. Once you exit the highway, take 129 WEST towards Watsonville.
  3. Drive 3.6 miles until you see the Land Trust signs and cones directing you to turn RIGHT off of the highway.
  4. Once you turn off of the highway, you will drive about 3 miles on a single lane dirt road.
