Featured Speaker
Julie Olmsted is the Managing Director and Legal Care Program Manager at Cancer Legal Care. Her legal focus shifted abruptly when her mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2007. Julie witnessed the enormity of the diagnosis and its impact not only on her mom’s health but on all facets of her life. Since then, Julie has made it her practice to do meaningful work for clients in difficult situations, and to make the law more authentic and accessible.
A former solo and small-firm practitioner focusing on estate planning, Julie earned her B.A. from St. Cloud State University, M.Ed. from University of South Florida, and J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law. She has authored articles for Lawyerist.com, taught continuing legal education courses, and delivered community presentations on the intersection of death, grief, and estate planning.
