In Shuli Eshel's MAXWELL STREET: A Living Memory, The Jewish Experience in Chicago,

the children and grandchildren of the Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe who created Maxwell Street, vividly remember their experiences of the market. Their memories, complemented by rare archival footage and still images, bring the market to life again.

Shuli Eshel, Israeli born Chicago filmmaker, is an award winning producer/director of documentaries covering a myriad of subjects. Among her documentaries are Women's Peace in the Middle East, Illinois Women Artists: The New Millennium, Maxwell Street: A Living Memory, The Jewish Experience in Chicago, Jewish Women in American Sport: Settlement Houses to the Olympics and her most recent, critically acclaimed documentary, A Voice Among the Silent: A Legacy of James G. McDonald
