Event description

Description

Over the past 15 years neuropsychologists have learned more about the adolescent brain than in all previous years combined. We now know the brain will never be as malleable as it is during this time period. We will look at the latest research on the adolescent brain, debunk some myths about this stage of development and learn how to support teens’ healthy transition into adulthood.

Who Should Attend? Everyone with an adolescent, pre-teen or young child in their lives. We will learn:

  • Why adolescence has changed, more than doubling in length over the past century, and the steps you can take to lessen the chance your child will go through puberty early.

  • How adolescents think, why they take risks, act differently in groups of their peers, and what parents can do prepare them for adulthood.

  • Rethinking Adolescence - Protecting them from themselves and guiding them toward healthier choices.

Lead by Tracy Theisen, Head of School at North Shore Montessori School and wildly curious mother of two adolescent children.
