Maura Rogers and the Bellows
Cleveland’s Maura Rogers and the Bellows bring a refreshing twist to the alt folk genre. Influenced by artists ranging from Bruce Springsteen to PJ Harvey, Maura’s honest lyrics overcome personal loss and proclaim perseverance. From soul-felt ballads to sultry rock and roll, the dynamic musicianship of Maura Rogers and the Bellows provides listeners with a genuine, moving experience. The accordion, electric guitar, bass, and drums of the Bellows set the mood for Maura’s powerful voice and storytelling. The result is a familiar, yet unique sound that moves both the listener’s heart and feet.
Honey and Houston
Hailing from Northern Kentucky, Lauren Houston and Heather Turner are the fuel behind the fire of Honey & Houston. Joined by multi-instrumentalist Mark Cretcher and drummer Daniel Peterson the band has quickly become a fixture on the Cincinnati scene, playing high-profile festivals like Buckle Up and the Whispering Beard as well as opening for national acts including Tim O'Brien, Eilen Jewell, David Bromberg and Scott Miller / Rayna Gellert. In 2014 they were nominated for a Cincinnati Entertainment Award. The group blends diverse influences with sweet melodies and goose bump-inducing harmonies.
Rebecca Wohlever(Rebecca and the Hopewell) is a Cleveland based singer-songwriter who recently released her second album, "Star Money". She shares her music when she can, between mothering and teaching yoga, both of which serve to inspire her writing. The songs are deeply rooted in common human experiences with inspiration coming from the local natural world and growing up in Ohio, as well as personal stories and imaginary circumstances. "All the Sycamores", her debut album, has a stripped down, rawness in its production; rich lyrics, soft, sweet and honest. The sounds and lyrics of "Star Money" fluctuate between gutsy and catchy to soothing and hypnotic and include her band, The Hopewell. You can find her on Pandora at Rebecca Wohlever and the Hopewell, on CD Baby, or at rebeccawohlever.com
