About this event

Matthew Ward, will be coming to the Heart of the City Music Factory for 2 nights!

Matthew Ward has one of the most prolific voices in any genre of music. Matthew has a rich musical legacy spanning over 40 years, recording 9 solo albums including two number one hits ‘To The King’ and ‘I Will Worship You’. He has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and is a Dove Award recipient.

Along with his two sisters, he is credited for helping create the sound of contemporary Christian music as a founding member of the groundbreaking and critically acclaimed group, 2nd Chapter of Acts, which is credited with changing the sound of Christian music.

Matthew has recorded or performed with more than 50 contemporary Christian artists, as well as singing a duet with pop-diva Donna Summer and background vocals on other songs including the No. 1 hit She Works Hard For the Money. He has also performed background vocals for artists such as, Leann Rimes, Andrae Crouch, Annie Herring, Dennis Jernigan, Ron Kenoly, Twila Paris, Neal Morse, and Keith Green.

When Matthew was 18 he recorded his first solo album, Toward Eternity. Several songs on the album were written especially for Matthew by renowned songwriters such as Michael Omartian and Keith Green. Beyond that, the album was the first project on which Matthew enjoyed freedom to experiment with his wide-ranging vocal styles.

Matthew continues to tour and minister all over the world with his band and continues to have an impact on audiences of all generations!
