Tammy and Mattan have been collaborating over the past 15 years and bringing forth a rare chemistry which resulted in a unique new musical creation. The concert at Room 31 will be featuring compositions by both and will also present their interpretations of beloved pieces by Hermeto Pascoal and other geniuses of contemporary music.

Mattan is winner of the 1st prize in the 2018 international ‘7 Virtual Jazz Club Web Community Award’ His original compositions have also earned him awards such as the John Lennon songwriting contest, and the USA Songwriting competition.  He performs regularly with Israeli Songwriting heroes such as Miki Gavrielov, Alon Olearchik, Shlomo  Gronich and more ...Mattan’s ensemble was recently featured on numerous stages including the International Red Sea Jazz Festival in November 2021 , at the Klaipeda Lithuania Jazz Festival 2022 and 2023, at the Nisville Jazz Festival in Serbia 2022, and at the Cambridge England Jazz Festival 2022. ‘Mattan's quintet music is flowing, bright and listener friendly, his flute sound is clear, crispy and melodic, and the Israeli-Brazilian mix is the ultimate contemporary Jazz creation, spiced with warm unique flute sounds from Klein. Mattan Klein's virtuoso improvisations lift Jazz-flute playing to new heights.’

Vocalist and composer Tammy Scheffer has been a creative force in NYC’s vibrant music scene for more than a decade. Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as “innovative, provocative and alluring.”

Scheffer lends her voice to ensembles that range from jazz to progressive rock, from improvised music to modern classical music. Most recently she appeared on albums with Stefan Bauer’s Voyage West, Amanda Monaco’s Pirkei Avot, and Joe Phillips’ opera The Grey Land. As a bandleader, Tammy released an album with her sextet on the label Inner Circle Music. Tammy performed at Carnegie Hall and Birdland in NYC, Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Revoice Festival in London, MISA Festival in China, San Sebastian Jazz Festival in Spain, Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in Washington DC, Chicago Cultural Center, and many other premier stages.
