Mark your calendars for our second annual Matsuri! Join us on the grounds of Japan House and the University Arboretum for Japanese food and drink, taiko drum performances, Tsugaru-shamisen performer Michiyoshi Sato, martial arts demos, yukata and cosplay dressing, bubbles and Pokemon face painting, a chance to try on Samurai armor, tea ceremonies, Ikebana displays and Bonsai demonstrations! Rain or shine. While all performances and demonstrations are free, tickets for food and drink and are available now for purchase. Each ticket is worth $1 and food and drink will cost between $1-10. Tickets will also be required for participation in some activities such as yukata dressing, photo booth, face painting, etc.
Purchase your tickets here and just pick them up at Will Call during the festival. Tickets will also be available for sale at Matsuri. Please consider making a donation to help us with the cost of producing this festival!
Food and drink vendors (which will require tickets) include Sakanaya and Miga, Flying Machine Coffee, Pizza M, Cream & Flutter, Michaels' Catering, Pandamonium, Pop Stop, Tang Dynasty Food Truck, and Prairie Fruits Farm. Watch for more announcements and menus coming soon.
What does it cost to attend Matsuri?
All artist performances and demonstrations are free. You must purchase food and drink tickets to pay our vendors and some activities (such as yukata and cosplay dressing, tea ceremony, etc will have small fees.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is available first come, first serve at University lots in the area such as south of Japan House, Vet Med and F23 on Florida Avenue. There are also spaces along Lincoln Avenue. Check the campus parking map for more info.
Visit the MTD website for info on what bus to catch. The Raven bus comes to Japan House but other bus routes can bring you close by as well.
For those needing assistance, golf carts will be transporting people from the above parking lots to the festival site in the University Arboretum.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
We ask that you do not bring outside food and drink but instead enjoy what our vendors are providing.
We also ask that you leave your pets at home, unless they are service animals.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, you may transfer ownsership through Eventbrite
