About Session

Matsunaga Institute students develop a theoretical foundation to advance scholarship in peace studies, including human rights and advocacy, leadership and governance, policy analysis, and communications. Students learn and hone practical conflict management skills by enrolling in Peace and Conflict Education (PACE) courses that enhance personal and professional skills.

About the Matsunaga Institute

The Matsunaga Institute for Peace is an academic department at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa that promotes cross-cultural understanding, collaborative problem-solving, critical thinking, and lifelong skills to groom leaders to address contemporary and complex issues near and far.
