https://handsandfeetirvingtx.weebly.com/

WHEN/WHERE:
Beginning March 30th, the last Saturday of each month from 9:00 am - 11:30 am at Patterson Hall, Hackberry Creek Church, Irving

WHAT:
On March 30th Hands & Feet facilitators will introduce, demonstrate and teach how to make sleeping mats from plastic bags for homeless youth and adults.

OUR GOAL:
It takes 600 bags and 40 hours to create 1 mat. Our goal is 10 mats by October 1st.

WHY:
*They are lightweight
*Easy to clean
*Provide cushion on cement or hard surfaces
*Protect from the sweltering heat and the freezing cold
*Protect from bed bugs and other insects
*Puts all those wasted plastic bags to good use!

WHO:
If you like working with your hands and learning new things, you'll enjoy this project! Anyone can participate (so invite your friends and co-workers.)

HOW:
You can be 1 part of the process or finish a mat from start to finish; collecting, cutting strips, creating "plarn" and crocheting mats.

ITEMS NEEDED:
Hands & Feet is now collecting plastic bags that can be placed in the tall red bin along the wall just past the church office at 2000 Kinwest Pkwy, Irving TX 75063

Stay tuned for more details and opportunities to care together,

Laurie McElroy
