Description

Buildologie

Camp Objectives: Students will have fun while learning basic static structures used in robotics by applying the fundamentals of math and science concepts. Upon successful completion of this camp, students will be able to apply the basic engineering prinicples to build strong and stable structures, program their robot, describe the basics of robotic sub-systems, and demonstrate their projects in a show & tell during the last hour of the camp.

Technologies and Robotic Platform: Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 and/or EV3

Course Prerequisites:
  • Grade Level: 1st Grade and above.

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced level courses available. Students are placed in the appropriate level based on their entry level knowledge and skills.

Codologie

Camp Objectives: Learn to Code, Code to Learn. Explore "mini-project" based hands-on labs. This camp is designed to support familiarity and increasing fluency with computational creativity and computational thinking. In particular, depending on the interest and skill level, the different programming projects encourage exploration of key computational thinking concepts (sequence, loops, parallelism, events, conditionals, operators, data) and demonstrate their projects in a show & tell during the last hour of the camp.

  • Explore Open Source and learn to apply System Development Life Cycle© (SDLC)
  • Review Computer programming platforms and technologies
  • Develop mini projects
  • Apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Soft skills (STEAMS)
  • Demonstrate grand final project to peers and guest audience

Technologies and Computer Programming Platform: Python 2.x, C++, Arduino and Stratch

Course Prerequisites:

  • Grade Level: 2th Grade and above.
  • Recommendation of Python Programming skills

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced level courses available. Students are placed in the appropriate level based on their entry level knowledge and skills.

Gamologie

Camp Objectives:

Gamologie© "Imagine-Code-Play-Share" -Explore "mini-game project" based hands-on labs. Create your own story, build your own game characters, and make your own game. Learn to program and develop computational skills while having fun. Play and Share!

  • Explore game genres and learn to apply Game Development Life Cycle© (GDLC)
  • Review game development platforms and technologies
  • Develop up to 3 mini games.
  • Explore 2-D and 3-D game objects.
  • Apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Soft skills (STEAMS)
  • Keep developer logs and document each game project
  • Demonstrate the games to peers and guest audience

Technologies and Game Development Platform: Minecraft, Python 3.x, PyGame, C# and Unity

Course Prerequisites:

  • Grade Level: 3rd Grade and above.
  • Completion of Mathobotix Codologie I or Gamologie I and/or demonstrable prior Scratch, Minecraft and/or Python Programming skills.
Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced level courses available. Students are placed in the appropriate level based on their entry level knowledge and skills.
