Invitation: Mathematics-Driven Innovation Centre (M-DICE) Launch Event
On behalf of Heriot-Watt University's Mathematics-Driven Innovation Centre, M-DICE, I am delighted to invite you to our official Launch Event.
The event will take place on Monday 1st December 2025 (12-3pm) at the National Robotarium on the Heriot-Watt Campus, Riccarton, Edinburgh. A buffet lunch will be provided.
The M-DICE launch and showcase event will provide an exciting opportunity to explore the value of mathematical sciences in industry, business and government and how it can contribute to interdisciplinary and industrial problem solving by providing state-of-the-art mathematical knowledge and techniques tailored to the challenges of the 21stcentury.
It will feature in particular, M-DICE at Heriot-Watt University and its position as Centre for Knowledge Exchange (KE) within the UK and Scotland KE ecosystems.
The event will also showcase the work recently done by the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences to evidence the value of Mathematical Sciences for the UK and Scotland economy.
We are honoured to welcome
Professor Dame Alison Etheridge FRS, the President of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences, to open the event. The event will include short addresses by Professor Tristan Pryer (Director of the Institute for Mathematical Innovation, University of Bath) and Professor Andreas Kyprianou (Director of the Centre for Applications of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, University of Warwick) and will offer valuable networking opportunities.
