MATCHMAKING RULES

RULE #1

DO NOT REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU DO NOT MATCH THE COMMODITY NEED

Only request an appointment if you match a goods/services need on the list.

RULE #2

APPLYING FOR MATCHMAKING DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU AN APPOINTMENT

To ensure that matchmaking sessions are effective for both buyers and suppliers, you will only be matched if you meet the specific requirements provided by each corporation.  Corporations have asked to screen and select each of their matchmaking MBEs, so be aware that not every MBE that applies will receive an appointment.

RULE #3

IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A MATCHMAKING APPT, IT IS NOT AN EXPO DEAL-BREAKER

Corporations will have decision-makers and supplier diversity professionals (procurement and sourcing managers) staffing their booths, so if you do not get a matchmaking appointment, you will still have the opportunity to present your company & marketing piece to corporate buyers at their booths.  Remember: corporations purchased booths because they want to meet MBEs.

RULE #4

ONLY CERTIFIED MBES CAN PARTICIPATE IN MATCHMAKING AND WE WILL ACCEPT ONLY 1 MATCHMAKING APPLICATION REQUEST PER CERTIFIED MBE COMPANY

If you create more than 1 application in the portal, we will delete it without notice (note: you are allowed to make edits and changes to your original application online until 8:00 PM PST on Monday, June 25, so there is no need to create new/additional applications).  If you are not a Certified MBE but submit an application anyway, we will disregard it.

   RULE #5

BY CORPORATE REQUEST, DO NOT CONTACT CORPORATIONS PRIOR TO THE EXPO

If we receive complaints, this will jeopardize your matchmaking session(s).

RULE #6

YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR MATCHMAKING APPT(S) THE DAY BEFORE THE EXPO

Your matchmaking appointment(s) will be sent from matchmaking@ncmsdc.org to the email you specify in your matchmaking application and only to that email.  It will be your responsibility to check that email address the day before and print your schedule.  We will not be distributing matchmaking schedules at the Expo.  If you do not receive an email with your matchmaking appointment(s), you were unfortunately not matched (see Rules #2 & 3).

RULE #7

ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REQUEST UP TO 4 MATCHMAKING APPOINTMENTS, YOU MAY ONLY RECEIVE 1 OR 2

RULE #8

CORPORATIONS HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO MEET WITH ANY MBE

This is often the case when they have already met with you within the past 6-12 months.

RULE #9

YOU HAVE UNTIL 8:00 PM PST ON TUESDAY, JUNE 26, TO MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE WE SHUT DOWN THE APPLICATION PORTAL

RULE #10

YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND THE EXPO BY JULY 20 OR YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN MATCHMAKING AND YOUR REQUEST WILL BE DELETED (NO EXCEPTIONS!)
