Masters and Music: a series blending artistic imagery and musical composition

Join fellow art lovers for a casual evening of entertainment. Enjoy artistic and musical insights in the intimate setting of the UNO Art gallery and beyond. Engage with the guest artists during the wine and goodies reception that follows.


2018-2019 Season

Sunday November 4th, 5 pm: Healing Arts

SPECIAL PROGRAM, SPECIAL LOCATION!! M&M invites you to the kickoff of the 2018-2019 Masters & Music Season. FOA and UNMC will host a one hour tour of the Healing Arts Program at the Fred & Pamela Buffet Cancer Center. The Healing Arts program celebrates how effective creative arts can be on the health and healing process for patients. Art work by national and world-reknowned artists highlights the collection.

This special event will be the sole focus of an evening dedicated to beautiful art, dynamic architecture and the innovative research taking place at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. However, the delicious receptions and uplifting music that make Masters & Music so unique will return on January 27th!

Located on 45th Street between Dewey and Emily.
Free parking in Green Garage immediately adjacent to Cancer Center.

Sunday January 27, 5 pm

In correlation with the UNO Faculty exhibition in the Art Gallery.
Presentation by new faculty member Ashley McFeely, Graphic Designer.
Music by Christie Beard, Flute, Piccolo, UNO Department of Music.

Graphic Design is one of the fastest growing arts media in modern time and Graphic Designer Ashley McFeely has contributed to its impact with her work at advertising agencies, in the communication world, non-profits and as a university professor. She considers herself a Humanitarian Designer and her work illustrates the power of visual communication. Christie Beard connects the power of communication through musical composition.

Sunday March 10, 5 pm

Presentation by Bob Culver, Neo Pop and 3D Painting Artist
Music by BluesEd youth talent program

Bob Culver calls his creations Neo-Pop or three-dimensional paintings. These dynamic works explore personal friendships, social commentary, and cartoon heroes in his distinctively bold and colorful style. Artist is only one of Bob’s career successes – the corporate and non-profit world have greatly benefited from his expertise. Also connecting past and future is BluesEd: a youth talent program dedicated to "Keeping the Blues Alive.”
