MASTERMIND ON THE ORGAN - WAYNE MARSHALL LIVE IN CONCERT

organWORX concerts and the Royal Canadian College of Organists are proud to present the internationally renowned organist Wayne Marshall, live in concert at Knox United Church!

One of the best known international conductors, irrepressible and multifaceted talent, rewarded like few others with the gift of improvisation, British conductor, organist and pianist, Wayne Marshall, is world-renowned for his musicianship and versatility on the podium of a symphony orchestra as well as at the keyboards of a piano or at the console of a organ.

Considered one of the top five organists in the world, he has been Organist in Residence at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester since 1996. After working as chief conductor of the WDR Radio Orchestra from 2014 to 2020, he is now concentrating more on solo projects.

As organ recitalist, Wayne Marshall has an exceptionally varied repertoire and performs world wide. In the last couple of years, he has gained a big following on social media. He gave a spectacular online recital at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg in 2021. He also made his debut as organist at the Berlin Philharmonie in 2022 and returns to the Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles in 2024. During the 23/24 season, he will be performing at the concert hall in Dortmund, Essen Philharmonie, Bozar in Brussels and will be at the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Henry Willis organ at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Preceding his upcoming debut as guest conductor of the Vancouver Symphony this May, Wayne is pleased to be able to perform pieces from the worlds of classical, popular, and jazz music with consummate ease on the organ at Knox.
