Lighting is one of the most important aspects of photography. Since using the pop-up or hot shoe mounted flash rarely produces the light you want, many photographers feel forever limited to natural light. But even if you only have a single flash unit there are always other options to shape it into something beautiful. In this class, Benjamin Weatherston will take an in depth look at the moving the flash away from the camera.
In this hands-on workshop style class, Ben will set up an impromptu studio with a single flash and let every participant use it with various modifiers. The class will then build on the set up with 2 and 3 flashes in various arrangements.
Topics will include:
· Equipment safety demonstration
· Flash synchronization
· When to use different styles of lighting
· Single light portrait
· How to adjust lighting for the subject
