Mastering Ethics in a Digital Age- Dr. Louise A. Stanger E.D, LCSW, CDWF, CIP This 6 hour interactive course meets and exceeds the requirements for licensed clinicians, including but not limited to Marriage and Family Counselors (LMFT) , Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Psychologists.
This will be a lively interactive training which takes a close look and rules and regulations governing digital communications, the use of Social media, telepsychology and crossing state lines as a licensed provider. In doing so we will go beyond traditional ethical courses which just discuss Confidentiality, Duty to Warn and Duty to Protect in the context of a professional practice. Advertising and ethics will be explored as well as we examine ethics in these professions from an individual (Micro) ,Mezo( group) and Macro( community perspectives”). The impact of the opioid epidemic on delivery of services along with the legalization of marijuana and the “me too” movement will be some of the more global ethical issues we will explore as practitioners.
OBJECTIVES
- EXPLAIN DESCRIBE AND DIFFERENTIATE DIGITAL POLICIES AND ETHICS FOR LICENSED CLINICIANS
- REVIEW CONFIDENTIALITY, DUTY TO WARN,DUTY TO PROTECT IN A FACEBOOK, SNAPCHAT, INSTAGRAM WORLD
- EXAMINE THE USEAGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND ADVERTISING
- EVALUATE TELEPSYCHOLOGY AND THE ETHICAL DILEMENA IT POSES
- EXAMINE THE EMERGENCE OF OPEN NOTES AS AN ETHICAL ISSUE
It is the policy of Milestones Ranch Malibu to provide a refund to participants in cases of non-attendance. All refunds/cancellations must be submitted to the CEU Administrator in writing 72 hours in advance in order to cancel or obtain a refund. No administrative fee will be assessed for the participant. Milestones Ranch Malibu may provide a full refund for extenuating circumstances for participants. Refunds will take a minimum of 5 business days to process.
