Event description
Develop your skills and knowledge to define and activate values for your team, client projects and organisation.

About this Event

Presented by Dr Dimity Podger, Director Barasa Consulting Group

I invite you to join this Masterclass and learn how to bring a values-based approach to your client projects, team and organisation, and gain significant benefits.

Our values inform, guide and influence our thoughts, words, decisions and actions.

When we are working with clients, in teams and in our organisations, it's mission critical to get clear on the shared values that are important and that will guide how you work together to achieve your collective vision.

With a set of values, and a shared way of working together, you build internal cohesion within a group, as well as trust and respect.

These elements underpin the success of your endeavours.

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF DEFINING AND ACTIVATING VALUES?

In a snapshot, defining values together:

  • Creates a common language and understanding of how you will go about things within a team, organisation and with clients
  • Brings coherence and meaning to product and service design, culture and behaviours
  • Ensures everyone is working on the same page and know how to go about things together
  • Defines a guiding framework of the right and good way to make decisions, work through dilemmas and tensions
  • Guides in choices like who you recruit into a team or organisation to ensure alignment
  • Builds cohesion and trust, connecting people meaningfully across a team and organisation

WHAT WILL WE COVER IN THE MASTERCLASS?

During this 1-day experiential Masterclass you will:

  1. Gain an understanding of what shared values are and why they are so important to identify and define
  2. Learn how to identify and define values for your client project, team, or organisation
  3. Workshop an approach that you can use in your context post this Masterclass
  4. Explore good case studies of team and organisational values
  5. Explore practices to successfully activate and integrate values
  6. Practice creating values-based stories to guide behaviours, actions, decisions, and practices

WHAT DO CLIENTS SAY ABOUT WORKING WITH DIMITY?

Dimity was a gift. She worked with us to define our values. Her work has helped us to truly understand the values we uphold at work each day, and deeply connect with the way we want to create change. Working with her has given us an immense appreciation for process and the importance of connecting with higher purpose. (Thea Souter, CEO, Youth Food Movement)

Barasa’s program was a tremendous experience. Not only did it help us to better understand the power of a well-crafted set of values and purpose, but also how transformative these tools can be to realising an organisation’s goals. I would highly recommend the Values@Work programme to anyone looking to create a positive change both in themselves and in their company. (Alex Siewert, Strategy Director, The Leading Edge)
