Master the Squat
Event Information
About this Event
If you answered yes to any of these, sign up for the Master the Squat workshop with Dr. Zoë Pond-McPherson DPT, CSCS from Big League Performance + Rehab!
This 60 minute workshop will focus on specific techniques to help improve your squat mobility and stability. The squat is a fundamental movement that you should be able to do. In recent years the squat has been made into a cookie cutter exercise that everyone needs to perform a certain way. In reality, there is no one perfect way to squat. We are all made differently with different hips, knees, and ankles. As a result, we all have different ways of squatting that are best for us. The goal of this workshop is for you to find the best way to squat effectively and pain free for YOU!

About Dr. Zoë
Zoë Pond-McPherson is a lifelong athlete who is passionate about helping people get back to the activities they love. Zoë worked for an investment consulting firm after graduating from Bryn Mawr College. She soon realized that she would much rather work with people than work behind a desk. She spent two years coaching CrossFit in the Philippines before attending The George Washington University, where she graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
During her time at GWU, her team finished in 7th place at the 2018 CrossFit Games. She also received two invitations as an individual to CrossFit Regionals and continues to compete in CrossFit, in the team division and at “sanctional” events. As a former competitive gymnast and collegiate lacrosse player, Zoe saw many injuries that could have been minimized or completely avoided. This gave her the drive to improve the standard of care in physical therapy in order to decrease recovery time so that people can get back to moving the way they would like to.
She believes that this is achieved through an individualized approach to treatment and providing education to her patients in order to enable them to take charge of their health and fitness. She incorporates joint and soft tissue mobilizations, trigger point dry needling, strengthening, and conditioning to decrease pain, restore function, and improve athletic performance.
