Event description

Description

How do we equip young athletes to make healthy choices while navigating daily life stressors and emotionally challenging situations while on the GRIND?

Master the GRIND! Train your mind for greater mental toughness.

High school student-athletes experience an enormous amount stress these days. The GRIND is brutal - practice, weight training, conditioning, meetings, school, homework, tests, tutoring, social life, family, part time job. All of this can leave them feeling overwhelmed, overworked and exhausted. And lead them to make unhealthy decisions trying to cope with it all.

In this thought provoking and interactive workshop, athletes, parents, guardians and coaches together will explore the toll all that grinding and stress takes on their bodies and minds and learn practical tools they can use everyday to enhance mental toughness in order to cultivate consistent peak performance in competition, in the classroom, and in life.

This Master the Grind workshop is led by Ayodele Harrison. He is a former walk-on turned D1 football scholarship student-athlete. Shortly after earning a full ride, Ayodele had a nervous breakdown from the stress of the grind. He recovered, went on to start for 3 years and earned an engineering degree in the process. Ayodele is now an emotional self-care practitioner teaching athletes, parents and coaches stress reduction practices for greater emotional health and well being needed to thrive while on the grind.

Come, Master the Grind with Ayodele Harrison!
