Description

Master Gardeners are invited to spend a day with UF/IFAS Citrus Specialists to learn about diseases, pests, and tree maintenance of Florida citrus in the home landscape along with the current status of the industry and research. An optional tour will be available in the afternoon.


SCHEDULE

8:15 am – 9:00 am Registration

9:00 am – Welcome (Dr. Ariel Singerman)

9:15 am – Care and Maintenance of Citrus Trees (Dr. Tripti Vashisth)

10:00 am –Break

10:15 am – Identification and Management of Common Citrus Pests in the Home Landscape (Dr. Lukasz Stelinski)

11:00 am – Identification and Management of Common Citrus Diseases in the Home Landscape (Dr. Megan Dewdney)

11:45 am – Research Updates (Dr. Arnold Schumann)

12:15 pm – BBQ Lunch

1:00 pm Optional Tour Introduction (Jamie Burrow)

If you will be attending the tour, please wear closed toed shoes - no heels or sandals. There will be a short walk and parts of the tour will be outside. Please dress according to the weather forecast.

1:15 pm – 2:30 pm Tour of Packinghouse, Sensory Testing, and Citrus Grove

2:30 pm – New Variety Tasting

3:00 pm - Depart
