Event Details

Become a Master Gardener.  Utah State University Washington County Extension is providing the community with an opportunity to take the Master Gardener course here in Hurricane Utah.  Each Wednesday beginning January 9, 2019 and ending March 27, 2019, from 6:00 - 8:30 pm, you will have the opportunity to learn in the following areas:

  • Understanding Soils
  • Plant Propagation
  • Growing Fruits & Vegetables
  • Pest Control
  • Trees, shrubs and flowers that grow well in our area.  
  • Irrigation

The classes will be held at our new Washington County Extension Office.  Our address is;  339 So. 5500 W. Hurricane, UT, past the Motor Vehicle Offices.

The field trips will be announced in class.  You will get to share your knowledge through serving at a variety of events around the area. You will receive all the handouts from each educator plus a Master Gardener disk with all the class information on it.  

The classes are taught by USU Extension agents and educators.  

A service component, of 30 service hours, is also required to receive your Master Gardener Certification.
