Description

The Master Composter class is a 3-day course, including two evenings and a full day Saturday. The hours and locations are below.

Thursday, February 22: 6 – 9 p.m., Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) Administrative Building (2525 Cullen, 76107)

Friday, February 23: 6 - 9 p.m.,TAFB Administrative Building (2525 Cullen, 76107)

*Saturday, February 24: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., TAFB Learning Garden at Ridglea Christian Church, 6720 W. Elizabeth Lane, 76116

*Saturday’s class will include a tour of the Southeast Landfill, located at 6288 Salt Road, Fort Worth, TX 76140.

Registration fees:

$40 Fort Worth residents, $55 Non-residents

Spouses may attend the class for an additional $20, but couples will receive only one set of supplies.

Scholarships are available to certified Elementary, Intermediate, and High School teachers who are actively teaching Fort Worth students at an educational institution.

Participants will receive:

  • Excellent training featuring nationally known instructor Larry Wilhelm

  • Rodale Book of Composting

  • C.E. Shepherd Compost Bin (if attending class all 3 days)

  • Free lunch on Saturday (if attending class all 3 days)
