Event Information
Description
This is a unique online workshop for women ( and men) after mastectomy.
It is very difficult to know what should be the "new normal" after mastectomy.
Should the scar be uneven?
Should it be painful?
Should it get better over time?
Your cancer care staff may have provided a set of arm exercises - but may not have mentioned how a mastectomy scar can vary and may not have provided advice about whether "hands on" treatments could be beneficial.
Learn how to assess your body's response to surgery and for some - radiotherapy and
See some of the "hands on" treatments available.
Why is this important?
It is important to have a chest that:
- looks as good as it can
- has as much "good" feeling as possible
- does not restrict arm movement or strength
- helps you have best posture
Join the online meeting for 1.5 hours and you will:
- See how to assess your mastectomy scar response,
- Learn a new arm stretch that really works
- See the massage treatments used by expert therapists across the world.
- See how to decide if you should take action and who to contact.
- Have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the workshop.
