Mast Brothers Factory Dinner with Chris Fischer
Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 7:00 PM (EST)
Join us in welcoming Chris Fischer of the Beach Plum Restaurant and Beetlebung Farm for November’s Chocolate Factory Dinner.
More often than not, Fischer works with ingredients so local that the distance between source and eater is best measured in feet rather than miles. But in his Martha’s Vineyard restaurant kitchen, proximity is no free pass. The hunter, farmer, fisher, and twelfth-generation Islander cooks to honor every element of the plate, be it turnips pulled from backyard soil, cheese aged down the road, or striped bass reeled in from the Vineyard coast. Fischer earned his culinary stripes in the kitchens of Babbo, River Café in London, and Alice Waters’ Rome Sustainable Food Project, among others. He works his family's land at Beetlebung Farm and has been at the helm of Beach Plum Restaurant since 2013, where he delights in spontaneity, seasonality, and the joy of filling up on good, fresh, real food.
For this dinner, Fischer will collaborate with Beach Plum Restaurant's Swedish-influenced pastry chef Olivia Pattison, with wine pairings selected by Thirst Wine Merchants.
Each Chocolate Factory Dinner is a festive, intimate meal in our flagship factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The gatherings feature guest chefs who are invited to stretch their culinary creativity, using the unique flavors and uncommon quality of Mast Brothers chocolate as a springboard to create a meal that reflects their signature style. Each dinner is a multi-course affair, and beverage pairings for each course are included.
Book early, as our communal table seats just 18 guests.
