Description

Join Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, artist Clint Baclawski, and MassArt for a celebration of Fringe and hear from the artist about his newest work.

About this Event

MassArt is proud to kick off the 2020 MassArt Auction season with an evening featuring long time MassArt Auction artist, alum, and colleague Clint Baclawski M’08. Join us on Thursday, October 10 from 6-8PM at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery for a reception and Q&A discussion as we celebrate Fringe: a solo exhibition featuring Clint’s newest work.

RSVP is required.

About the Artist

Clint Baclawski is known for creating photographic light installations that move the medium into newly deconstructed ground beyond the tradition and constraints of the photographic frame.

Fringe features a site-specific installation comprised of 108 light tubes, yellow mirrored Plexiglas, photographic imagery, and a blue PVC strip curtain. In the exhibition, Baclawski questions the notion of boundaries. When and where does the art exhibition begin? What can be touched, traced, or felt? Where does the exhibition end? The immersive installation will challenge the viewer’s senses, understanding of color, and comfort with imperfection.

Clint Baclawski (b.1981, Pennsylvania) is a contemporary Boston-based artist working with photography, technology, light, and space. His solo exhibitions include San Luis Obispo, California; St. Louis, Missouri; Rochester, NY, and Edinburgh, Scotland. His works have been included in group exhibitions at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, San Diego Art Institute, The Jen Bekman Gallery, Coral Gables Museum, and the University College Falmouth in England. He is a Recipient of the St. Botolph Emerging Artists Award, and holds a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
