The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Autism Society's first annual Masquerade Ball is sure to become Kalamazoo's newest, best and most glamorous Halloween party!
The event is primarily a fundraiser, raising money for the organization to support the local autism community of the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area. Money raised at the 2016 Masquerade Ball will help fund free family fun events for families affected by autism, social programs for diagnosed teens, educational workshops for local police and schools, support groups for parents of diagnosed children, and so much more.
The night will be filled with live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, wine tasting, a silent auction and more! Please join us on Friday, October 21st at 7 PM for an enchanting Halloween ball at the castle!
What is the RSVP by date?
Please purchase your tickets by September 21st. There will also not be any tickets sold at the door the night of the event.
Can I bring my children with me?
This is an adult fundraising event, so, preferably, all guests of the Masquerade Ball should be 18 or over. Guests must be 21 to drink alcohol. Please bring your I.D. if you are planning on drinking, as I.D's will be checked at the cash bar and at the Wine Tasting. If you purchase a ticket for the Wine Tasting and the attendant is not 21, you will not receive a refund for that ticket.
Is there a dress code?
Yes! Formal/black tie attire and masks are a must! You will not be refused entry into the event for not complying with the dress code, but you will certainly feel underdressed! Dressing up adds to the fun of the atmosphere of the Masquerade, so give it a try! Please do not wear stilletto heels, as it damages the historic flooring of the castle. Wedge or thick heels (diameter greater than 1") are allowed.
What should I wear and where do I purchase or rent formal/black tie attire?
Evening gowns and suits are perfectly acceptable! For gowns, Memories Bridal and Evening Wear is a good local option if you are interested in purchasing a gown, or look into Renttherunway.com for easy, inexpensive and glamorous rentals (they also offer a 20% discount for first time customers)! For suits, Men's Wearhouse offers rentals.
Where do I find masks?
When October rolls around, there will be plenty of masks at pop-up costume stores like Halloween USA, but Etsy.com is a great option if you want something a little more creative and unique!
Does the VIP Package come with admission tickets?
NO! While the VIP Package serves two people, it does not include admission tickets! Everyone must purchase general admission tickets to be allowed into the event. The Wine Tasting and the VIP Packages are considered Add-Ons. Add-Ons are purchased in addition to your general admission tickets. Feel free to purchase your General Admission tickets first, as there are only 125 tickets available, and purchase your add-ons later, as that will not affect your admission.
How do I get my tickets?
They will be emailed to you immediately after you purchase them! From there, you can print them out at your convenience. You can also find them in your tickets on your account on the Eventbrite website. If you purchase multiple tickets, they will all be sent in one email. For example, If you purchase 1 General Admission ticket and 1 Wine Tasting ticket, you will receive 1 email with 2 tickets attached.
Do I need to present my tickets at the door?
YES! Whether they are printed out on paper or pulled up on your phone screen or other device, we need proof of purchase at the door to let you in!
