Event description
Masonic Temple Building Hard Hat Tour with the Preservation Society of Charleston

About this Event

The Preservation Society of Charleston is pleased to offer an exclusive hard hat tour of the preservation project currently underway at 71 Wentworth Street, otherwise known as the Masonic Temple Building.

Situated at the corner of King and Wentworth Streets, this Tudor Gothic Revival style building was constructed in 1872 and designed by renowned Charleston architect John Henry Deveraux. Originally, the grand space served as a meeting space for the Freemasons and soon after became a shared space with the Washington Light Infantry. The building's iconic facade on King Street only gives a small glimpse of the unique style and rich history.

Join the Preservation Society of Charleston, East West Partners, and architect Kevan Hoertdoerfer for a special look at the incredible rehabilitation that has been underway since 2019.

The tour will be followed by light refreshments and the opportunity for further discussion.

Tickets are limited.

Masks are required.

Social-distancing protocols will be followed.
