Event description


The Masonboro Island Explorers program is a partnership between the North Carolina Coastal Reserve, non-profit Masonboro.Org and Carolina Ocean Studies to provide educational opportunities for fifth grade students in the Wilmington area. You may click on the green [REGISTER] button on the right to choose your dates and reserve your spot.

We need six adult volunteers and two alternates for each trip to the island. Here are some facts to know before you sign up:

Trips leave Carolina Beach Yacht Basin [100 Carl Winner Drive, Carolina Beach, NC]at 10:00am

Volunteers must arrive by 9:30am

Volunteers will return to the Carolina Beach Yacht Basin no later than 1:00pm

Transportation to and from Masonboro Island will be provided.

You may want to bring sunscreen, weather appropriate clothing and personal water or snacks.

When you arrive, you'll meet a Masonboro.Org volunteer to receive a temporary parking pass and info you'll need to get started.

You will receive an email two-to-five days before your trip with weather information and confirmation links.
