About this event

Other

Farmers in the Masham area are invited to join the Catchment Sensitive Farming team and the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust Ousewem team to:

  • Learn how soil health management benefits your farm
  • Watch live demos of aeration and subsoiling
  • Find out what funding and support is available

We’ll have live demonstrations of an Aerworx aerator and an Sumo subsoiler so you can compare performance in the field and askquestions about which approach might suit your land best.

Marion Wilby from the Catchment Sensitive Farming team will talk about the role of soil health in improving productivity, and making your land more resilient to both floods and drought, and the support that is available to farmers through the Farming in Protected Landscapes funding.

The Ousewem team will talk about their project which seeks to improve flood resilience to the village of Masham by working with farmers to increase the water holding capacity of their land. Ousewem can fund hedges, fences, scrapes, swales, ponds and soil health interventions such as aeration.

Jason from Aerwox will demonstrate the benefits of aeration to your farms productivity and talk about the practical advantages of good soil management.

A soup/stew lunch and tea and cake will provided!
