Mathematics Analytic Series: Cultivating Optimum Teamwork (MASCOT)
MASCOT is a two-week program designed to serve students who are identified as having high abilities or interest in mathematics. This program challenges students to develop a better understanding of mathematics through the use of problem solving applications, mathematical reasoning and collaboration. MASCOT is for students currently in grade six and grade seven. This program is sponsored by Ingham Intermediate School District and partially funded by grants from The W.B. and Candace Thoman Foundation.

The topics of MASCOT are intended to supplement, complement and extend mathematics taught in the classroom during the school year. The choice of topics is based on current research in mathematics and knowledge about how children learn. The instruction focuses on cooperative learning and builds on children’s prior mathematical knowledge.
