Our Recovery for Life Gala, which will be held virtually, will feature award winning chef, restaurateur, and author Michael Solomonov of Philadelphia’s Zahav, as he shares his personal story of addiction, recovery, and resilience.

Chef Mike is a beloved champion of Israel's extraordinarily diverse and vibrant culinary landscape. With his business partner Steve Cook, Chef Mike is co-owner of Philadelphia’s CookNSolo Restaurants which include Zahav, Federal Donuts, Dizengoff, Abe Fisher, Goldie, K’Far, Merkaz, and Laser Wolf.

Chef Mike is also the co-author of three cookbooks. He is the recipient of five James Beard awards, including 2016 “Book of the Year” for his and Steve Cook’s best seller Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, as well as 2017 “Outstanding Chef” and 2019 "Outstanding Restaurant" for Zahav. Food & Wine magazine recognized Zahav as one of the 2018 "40 Most Important Restaurants of the Past 40 Years.”

This continues to fuel a variety of crises including substance use, relapse, and exacerbated mental illness symptoms. Maryville has remained open during the pandemic and will continue to be there for those who need us. But we can’t do it without your help.

Proceeds from the Gala will allow us to continue providing comprehensive, high-quality care to individuals and families, while taking the proper precautions for safety including the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment, increased sanitation, and adequate staffing to allow for social distancing measures such as smaller group sizes.
