Event description
Mary Morris Leighton Impact Series Kickoff: "Suicide: The Ripple Effect"

About this Event

This year’s Mary Morris Leighton Impact Series will focus on mental health. The goal of the series is to encourage our community to talk openly about their mental health, to help our community learn how we can care for our mental health and the mental health of others, and to share community resources available to assist with this.

Beacon Health System is kicking off this year’s Mary Morris Leighton Impact Series with a FREE presentation of Kevin Hines’ Documentary “Suicide: The Ripple Effect”. This documentary highlights the journey of Kevin Hines, who at age 19, attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Today Kevin is a world-renowned mental health advocate, motivational speaker and author who travels the globe spreading a message of hope, recovery and wellness. The film chronicles Kevin’s personal journey and the ripple effect it has on those who have been impacted by his suicide attempt and his life's work since.

This event is free, but there are limited seats. Only those who have registered via the EventBrite link will be allowed admittance. You will be asked to show your emailed confirmation at the door of the event.

In addition to a viewing of “Suicide: The Ripple Effect”, Kevin Hines will be coming to South Bend in person on October 8th for a community event to share more on his mental health journey. Follow Beacon Community Impact at BeaconCommunityImpact on Facebook or Instagram to learn more about the October 8th event as well as other opportunities and events that are part of the Mary Morris Leighton Impact Series!
