Description

The day provides a rare opportunity to hear Mary Coughlin present to a UK audience and share the latest research and evidence base in trauma informed care. The course would support and empower all Neonatal Healthcare Professionals in frontline acute neonatal care or early follow up.

Mary Coughlin is a global leader in neonatal nursing and has pioneered the concept of age appropriate trauma-informed for hospitalized infants, families and professionals.

Growing evidence demonstrates the positive impact of supportive relationship based care for brain, health and developmental outcomes. The course will present the science of toxic stress for the preterm neonate and how adverse experiences impact on both short and long term outcomes.

The neonatal environment is challenging for the babies, their families and its staff. The day will address the vital importance of caring for the caregivers and will provide practical suggestions for promoting and protecting a nurturing care environment for all.
