About this Event

UCHICAGO STUDENTS ONLY

Join the IOP and UChicago Careers in Journalism, Arts, and Media (UCIJAM) as we welcome Martin “Marty” Baron, executive editor of the Washington Post, on the challenges and the outlook of American journalism. Before joining the Post in 2013, Baron worked as editor of the Boston Globe, where his leadership led the Globe to six Pulitzer Prizes – including the Prize awarded for exposing the cover-up of clergy sex abuse in the Catholic Church, as portrayed in Spotlight.

There are arguably few people who better understand the craft of journalism, so how does he see the industry adapting to the changing media landscape? Is this the post-truth era? If so, how will that change how the public gets its news?

This conversation will be moderated by IOP Director David Axelrod.

Lunch will be provided.
