Signing & Chat with Martin Walker.

Please come to meet this celebrated author as he signs The Templars’ Last Secret, the tenth in his series featuring Bruno, a French country policeman. Martin is also the author of five other books, including several works of history.

Walker was educated at Oxford and Harvard, was 25 years a foreign correspondent for Britain's The Guardian newspaper, and bureau chief in Moscow and Washington. He was editor-in-chief of United Press International, a public policy fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center, director of the Global Business Policy Council, a Washington-based think-tank, and author of books on Gorbachev and Perestroika, on the history of the Cold War, on Europe and on U.S. history. His Bruno novels have been translated into 17 languages, have sold nearly 4 million copies worldwide and are being made into a Franco-German TV series.

About The Templars’ Last Secret:

A woman is found dead at the bottom of the high curtain wall of a medieval fortress in the Perigord. The magnificent but ruined chateau of Commarque, founded in Charlemagne's day atop a rocky outcrop which contains caves with pre-historic engravings, was entrusted by an early Crusader to the Knights Templar, sparking legends of buried Templar treasure. But the echo of the Crusades, that first confrontation between the Christian cross and the Islamic crescent, reverberates through a novel that is as much about the politics and terrorism of the Middle East as it is about its hero, Bruno. He is an ex-soldier, now a French country policeman, and amid his friends and his cooking, his basset hound and his horse, his lost loves and his hopes of new ones, his inquiry into the death of the woman at Commarque unravels a much deeper and far older mystery.
