Martial Blade Concepts "Crash Course"
"The Complete Combatant" will be hosting this workshop at their Fusion MMA location.
This class will be lead by Damon Lusky. Damon is a life long student of martial arts and focuses on modern "real world" self defense. In 2013 Damon read a book "Contemporary Knife Targeting" by Micheal Janich. This was his intro to "Biomechanical cutting". Damon trained with Janich personally, and has been involved with MBC ever since. Damon is currently an Associate instructor in MBC , a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu and Tae Kwon Do. He Lives in North Georgia where he runs his own school. When not teaching he is busy running Alfa Knife his custom knife company. As alumni and now an assistant coach for the "The Complete Combatant" he continues to learn and share his no nonsense approach to self defense.
Martial Blade Concepts (MBC) is an edged-weapon system specifically designed to meet the needs of today’s concerned citizen and armed professional. Based on Michael Janich’s extensive analysis of the Filipino martial arts and many other systems, MBC takes combat-proven tactics and adapts them to modern tools, threats, and legal concerns. The result is a practical, easy-to-learn system that is ideally suited to modern self-defense.
Like all real self-defense, MBC tactics focus on “stopping power”—the ability to immediately and decisively stop an assailant from continuing his attack. To this end, MBC emphasizes an in-depth understanding of human physiology and the most effective methods of targeting key structures with small, legal-to-carry knives. Sometimes called “biomechanical targeting,” this approach has been thoroughly reviewed and validated by leading experts in the field of tactical medicine.
In this 6hr. class we will be focusing on the fundamentals of using a knife defensively. Skills covering stance, grip, characteristics of a knife assault, defensive skills and drills.
