Event description
Fusing pleasure with purpose, the MVOF celebrates local food, wine, and music for a one-of-a-kind interactive culinary experience.

About this Event

The Martha's Vineyard Oyster Fest celebrates all things seafood, with something for everyone. Meet local oyster growers, fishers, chefs, sommeliers, brewers, and mixologists as they share what they love to do. Eat local seafood, drink fine wine and local brews, learn about the superpowers of oysters. Let it all go, with fellow merrymakers, for some real good, salty fun.

This gastronomic event for food lovers will inspire greater appreciation for oysters—both as a sustainable culinary staple and as a vital species preserving our waters. Enjoying oysters is so good—for your health and our environment!

Part of the festival proceeds will fund the MVSG's Martha's Vineyard Shell Recovery Partnership, a program that recycles shells from local restaurants in order to restore the Island's natural oyster habitats. So this revelry is also for a good cause.

Brought to you by the folks behind Farm.Field.Sea., Vintage MV Wine & Spirits, and the Martha's Vineyard Shellfish Group. The MVOF is not to be missed!

More details can be found at mvoysterfest.com.

More Precious than Pearls: How Oyster Farms Are Redefining the Seafood Industry

Now a $28 million business in Massachusetts alone, oysters and other shellfish represent a bright spot in a once-prosperous industry beset by declining fish stocks. Today, scientists, economists, entrepreneurs, and chefs are aligned in efforts to build on the promise of sustainable ocean farming, experimenting with better techniques and equipment, and bringing new delicacies to market. A panel of oyster farmers, biologists, and food experts will talk about this exciting new economy, the latest research, and culinary trends.
