A day of marketing training for North Carolina's licensed meat handlers:

8-9 a.m. Registration

8:30- 9 a.m. Optional tour of Piedmont Custom Meats' new processing facility

9-10 a.m. "Market Impacts of Plant-Based Alternatives to Meats" by Ingles Supermarkets' dietician, Leah McGrath

10-11:30 "How to Sell to Restaurants, Food Trucks & Butcher Shops"- panel discussion + Q&A featuring the N.C. Restaurant & Lodging Association's 2018 Chef of the Year, and head chef of Willow's Bistro in Winston-Salem, Travis Myers; Matt Hannon, Chef at Ashten's in Southern Pines; and Stephen Goff, Chef/Owner of Aux Bar/Blind Pig in Asheville.

11:30- 12:30 Lunch and Networking

12:30- 2 p.m. "How to Leverage Your Email and Social Media to Drive More Customers to Your Business"--- Melanie Diehl, Melanie and Co. Marketing Collective.

2 - 4 p.m. "Marketing Best Practices"-- panel discussion and Q&A featuring Ben Grimes, Dawnbreaker Farms; V.Mac Baldwin, Baldwin Grass Fed Beef; and other farmers discussing what has worked for them, and discussing their experiences including third-party certifications, labeling, etc.

A second Tour of Piedmont Custom Meats' new processing facility may be held at conclusion of workshop if time permits.


$30 registration. Lunch is included.
