Marketing and communications are an essential part of any artist’s practice or organization’s strategy. But how do you know where to concentrate your efforts in the digital age? Communications professional and digital strategist Mara Vlatkovic is joining NYFA for a talk on January 17 to answer questions like:
- How do I start developing my audience and network online?
- Which social media platforms should I be using, and why?
- How do I incorporate online marketing into my day-to-day communication strategy?
- Will marketing my events, shows, performances etc. online make a difference to attendance or money raised?
The talk will explore the above questions and will provide you with concrete tips and strategies. You’ll learn ways to use social media to your advantage, rather than having it be a time-sucking activity. Discover how to ensure your marketing emails aren’t a waste of your or your reader’s time and why including effective call-to-action links is essential. Most importantly, hear how online marketing does not have to be tedious, ‘in-your-face’, or overwhelming – for you or your audience!
Limited space is available and pre-registration is be required. This workshop will be $10 for NYFA affiliated artists (current fiscally sponsored artists, Fellows, and IAP artists) and $15 for the general public. Artists of all experience levels are welcome to attend.
