About this event
On Thursday, February 2nd at 8 pm, Fairfield Muse will present the illustrious Mark Stuart. Stuart has recorded and toured worldwide with such notable artists as Freddy Fender, Steve Earle, Joan Baez, and Steve Forbert since he first attracted attention as a wunderkind. He’s performed thousands of concerts as a duo with his wife, Stacey Earle, releasing many albums on their independent label, Gearle Records, though now flies mostly solo. Stuart's storytelling, immaculate guitar playing, and moving songs have enthralled audiences on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, MTV, Cambridge Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Stan Rogers Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, Merlefest, and countless other venues. His impressive versatility spans electric rock, Chicago blues, honkytonk, slide, Travis picking, acoustic finger-style folk, country, and more, always landing on his feet with the elegance of Fred Astaire. His own songs are oft times drawn from his life as a traveling troubadour, but he could as easily cover Paul McCartney, John Fogerty, or Woodie Guthrie. Don’t miss this chance to hear the master in an intimate setting.
Tickets are $13 in advance, available online here or at Cafe Paradiso on the NW corner of the Fairfield square, or $15 at the door.
