Description

Conscience invites you an evening with Sir Mark Rylance and Caroline Lucas for a discussion on "What does an Ethical Foreign Policy Look Like?"

Mark Rylance is an international star of stage and screen, having been artisitc director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre for 10 years, before winning an Oscar for "Bridge of Spies" and a BAFTA for his starring role in Wolf Hall. Mark supported Ruth Cadbury's Taxes for Peace Bill last year, and supports the Peace Pledge Union, Peace Direct, and the Stop the War coalition.

Mark will be talking to Caroline Lucas in this special event. Caroline Lucas is the co-leader of the Green Party and the former vice Chair of the Stop the War Campaign. Caroline has been one of a few MP's at the forefront of promoting radical policies in Parliament and advocating a shift away from militarism.

Conscience is excited to have two of the UK's most prolific and well known peace campaingners join forces for this initiative.

Amongst the topics for discussion will be a Minister for Peace, asking what a minister for peace might do, and how we might approach international conflict without resorting to violence.

Would you back a Minister for Peace? Come along and discuss the arguments in favour in what constitutes a radical shift in modern political ethos.

The event will take place in the Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House, House of Commons, London.
