Description

Invitation to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust
Marine Strandings Network Forum

Saturday 11th November 2017 at Truro College, Threemilestone, Truro

We're pleased to invite you to join us for the 2017 Marine Strandings Network Forum, kindly hosted once again by Truro College. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear about the marine species research work being carried out by the Marine Strandings Network in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly; UK-wide by the Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme and by colleagues working in similar fields.

This year we are focusing on 25 years of strandings, with a tribute to the great Stella Turk who sadly passed away this year and was a founding member of MSN and hugely influential conservationist. Among the presentations will be:

  • Oceanic Visitors - Weird and Wonderful Visitors to our Coast, Paul Gainey, natural historian and biological recorder

  • UK By-catch Review from 25 years of National Strandings, Rob Deaville, Institute of Zoology

  • Results from the Southwest Bottlenose Dolphin Research, Rebecca Dudley, University of Plymouth

  • From Birth to Death, the Life Stories of 4 Atlantic Grey Seals in Cornwall, Sue Sayer, Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust

The cost of attending the Forum is £12 per person. Lunch and refreshments are included.

If you’d like to join us, please:

Register using this EventBrite page no later than Wednesday 8th November 2017. Spaces are restricted so please do register early to avoid disappointment.

We will send you an email with the Forum Programme and a map of the venue by end of the day Wednesday 8th November.

Please note that the closing date for registration is Wednesday 8th November 2017 10.00am. Attendance is by pre-booking only via the link and we regret that you cannot pay on the day. Priority will be given to CWT MSN volunteers if we are over-subscribed.

We look forward to seeing you for what promises to be a full and fascinating day.

Best wishes,

Abby Crosby
